SS-099 SPIRIT
SHIELD - SOLD. In the past, Spirit
Shields hung on poles outside the tepees. They used themes from nature,
such as buffalo, fox, wolf, bear, and more. Sometimes the shields
identified tribal clans or individuals. The shield carried strong
medicine according to the animal used in its design. This contemporary
spirit shield pays tribute to the proud warrior of the past.It is made
with Fox Face, Horsehair, Turkey Feathers, Bone, Brass, Abalone and
more.

BP-144 BREASTPLATE
w/ CHOKER - SOLD. The Breastplate and
Choker protected the warriors chest and neck areas, and were originally
made of bird, deer and buffalo bone. Hairpipe bone, generally made of
cow bone, became popular as they were made available for "Trade" by the
French and English traders. This example was crafted with Antique Bone
Hairpipe, Cobalt Crow
Beads, Catlinite Disks, Old Style Brass Beads, HorseHair and more.

LN-106 LOOP
NECKLACE - SOLD. The loop necklace was
popular from around 1870 to the 1930s, and was worn by such tribes as
the Crow, Blackfoot, Shoshone, Yakama and others. Many famous native
americans can be seen in old prints wearing their loop necklace,
including Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. This particular Crow Style
Loop Necklace features ten strands of Antiqued Clamshell Disks, Tin
Cones, Abalone Disks, Antiqued Hawk Bells, Trade Beads, Brass Beads,
Cobalt Crow Beads and Deerskin.

OS-080 BUCKSKIN
DRESS - SOLD. This three-hide dress is
typical of the plains indian dress worn by many tribes. It may be
decorated with beading, quillwork, shells, fur and trade cloth. For
everyday use the dress was worn without adornment. This particular
example is in smoke colored Buckskin with traditional rough side out.
Simply decorated with blue Crow Beads and old style Brass Beads. NOTE:
Dress can be made in four (4) different hide colors.

SH-126 SMOKEHAWK -
SOLD. Native Americans first
used stone, wood and bone to make smokehawks. Iron hawks were provided
by the French and English traders. The pipe bowl or smokehawk was a
prized possession for the native american warrior. The design and
decoration of the tomahawk gave power and meaning to the owner. This
particular example is ready to smoke (approximately 19"L) with a
hand-forged iron head featuring the classic "Weeping Heart" design.
Crafted with Mink Fur, Turkey Tail Feathers, Bone Beads, Blue Chevron
Beads, Hardwood Handle, Old Style Brass, Hen Feathers, Brass Tacks and
Wool.

B-165 BELT BAG -
SOLD. Bags and pouches were
made in various styles and sizes and were adorned according to tribal
custom and personal choice. Bags were tied to belts, hung over the
shoulder, and used for storage. Bags and pouches held such things as
tobacco, spritual items, medicine, food, and the like. This hand-laced
soft deerskin Belt Bag (7x10" plus fringe) has Latigo Belt Straps, Bone
Buttons and Beadwork.

SH-151 PIPE AXE -
SOLD. Pipe-Axes were a very
respected weapon, used by both native tribes and mountain men.
Pipe-Axes were made available to the Indians by trading with English
and French Traders. Axes like this were a prized possession of warriors
and were used for battle, in camp, and for smoking. The axe, therefore,
served a variety of functions, as a weapon, a tool, and for pleasure.
This Axe is beaded in the Vietnam Service colors of Green, Yellow, and
Red. It has an old style English "Trade" Brass Head, Brass Tacks,
Rabbit Fur, Buckskin and Antiqued Simulated Sinew.

GS-172 GUN
SCABBARD - SOLD. Rifle scabbards
protected the weapon and were used by both Indians and
Mountain Men. I made this scabbard using Elk Hide with Horse Hair,
Cones, Rabbit Pelt, Trade Felt, Crow Beads and Beadwork. A scabbard can
be custom made to fit your guns.

LANCE - SOLD. Impressive
Ceremonial Lance (80"Lx18"H)
made with smoke Buckskin and a Hand-Forged 10" Iron Blade. Features
Hand-Painted Mature Golden Eagle and Immature Bald Eagle Feathers.
Crafted with: Red Trade Felt, Hardwood Shaft, Antiqued Brass Hawk Bells
and "White Heart" Beads.
