Smokehawk
SH-126 Smokehawk

Native Americans first used stone, wood and bone to make smokehawks. Iron hawks were provided by the French and English traders. The pipe bowl or smokehawk was a prized possession for the native american warrior. The design and decoration of the tomahawk gave power and meaning to the owner. This particular example is ready to smoke (approximately 19"L) with a hand-forged iron head featuring the classic "Weeping Heart" design. Crafted with Mink Fur, Turkey Tail Feathers, Bone Beads, Blue Chevron Beads, Hardwood Handle, Old Style Brass, Hen Feathers, Brass Tacks and Wool.
